Exactly 20 years ago was a very happy day, on Easter Monday, I gave may 50th birthday concert, in the Brussels Cathedral.
I played the 3rd symphony of Camille Saint-Saëns, for orchestra and organ, on the organ, with a remastered CD (organ filtered away, and pitch shifted with Steinberg's Wavelab 1.0, to accommodate for the tune changes of the organ with the temperature).
The remastered CD was an emergency replacement for the concert that had been scheduled two months before, and cancelled because the scores were too difficult for the youth orchestra that had been contracted.
This has been the seed for what would become Synchestra: make the dream of playing with a real orchestra come true!
12 April 2004 will remain forever in my memory as a milestone in my musical life... 🙂.
(For the old memories: the score for the Organ Symphony was created in those years in Finale. The Organ Symphony is edition nr. SC 0001 of Synchestra. I started writing the score in 2003.)
